The Unity of Faiths Festival 2016 Torch ceremony

This Sunday kids from London will came together to light the Torch of Unity.
The TUFF FC football project created by The Unity of Faiths Foundation(TUFF) a London Charitable foundation based in Kensington and Chelsea Borough brought a Torch of Unity ( this year bearing London’s original 1948 Olympic Torch ) to the Allianz Stadium, home to Saracen’s Rugby.
It was the final home game for Saracens who played Newcastle.
The kids from west & north London met at half time with their respective Mayors from Ealing & Barnet Boroughs.
TUFF FC was representing west London and Saracens Youth representing north London. Mayor of Ealing Cllr Harbhajan Dheer & Mayor of Barnett Cllr Shooter accompanied the youth at half time onto the pitch in front of a 20,000 sellout crowd and hand over a Torch of Unity (this year using London’s original 1948 Olympic Torch )
Then all the kids formed a Guard of Honour for Saracens and Newcastle players coming back onto the pitch after half time.
This represents the coming together of Unity in London and the 4th Unity of Faiths Festival taking place in Barnett at the Allianz Stadium on August bank holiday this year said Esmond Rosen of the Barnet multi faith forum.
The Kids also exchanged a Football to Rugby Team and visa versa showing how sport has an incredible way of breaking barriers.
TUFF have a unique football project which instills British fundamental values is rolling the project out over London, and soon to go national with other sports like rugby joining this important social initiative said the TUFF founders Dr Talwar & Anna Prior.
