Project Unity
A grass roots educational venture empowering young people
to action a most critical issue in their world– unity
Introduction
Through a series of programmes, young people express, connect, engage and interact to develop their unified voice to build a harmonious community, country and world. In conjunction with Goldsmiths, Project Unity’s first venture is a four year plan which aims to create a Youth Unity Charter – it will be presented to politicians and policy makers as a young people’s perspective on how to create & secure their future.
The Schools Programme sees schools across London participate in a scheme of learning to culminate in an all expenses paid trip to Wembley Stadium to showcase their work and become Ambassadors for Project Unity.
Unity Schools Programme
Project Unity’s initial programme, The School’s Programme, provides a scheme of learning for Key Stage 3 students in which young people get to explore the themes of unity through a creative lense.
This scheme of work comprises of seven learning opportunities which guide students through the lessons to be learned from conflict, beginning with World War I, through to developing their own understanding of unity within their communities and finally to a creative outcome.
Students from ten schools will have the opportunity to exhibit their work at an event at Wembley Stadium in January 2015.
